Welcome to the Air Control Entech Lab. This is where we innovate – it is at the heart of who we are. Everything we do in The Lab is engineered to make inspection smarter, faster and safer. If it is not in service of these three goals, it is not our priority. If a technology does not advance inspection in one or all three of these areas, it does not make it into our lab.

DESIGN

We design all our UAVs in-house, starting with the payload. Our UAVs are designed around each inspection instrument, so the craft is custom-built to carry that instrument, optimised for the inspection work to be completed. Individual parts are either created in-house using our 3D printers, or ordered in from world-class suppliers around the world.

Day 1: Design the part. 3D print.

Day 2: Flight test. Reiterate.

Day 3: Finalise for production.

 

Three Days. Our prototyping cycle is rapid, built lean for optimised turnaround times and designed to enable us to chase high performance at all times. All our UAVs are built and flight tested in The Lab, at our Aberdeen-based HQ.

MANUFACTURE

With two leading-edge 3D printers by Form Labs, a CNC Machining table, a fully functional design workshop and indoor flight test area, the LAB is fully equipped to produce and test every craft we make. All Air Control Entech UAVs are manufactured in the Lab. They are built by our engineers and rigorously tested by our pilots. Every single craft manufactured in-house is put to the test using its full capacity.

We innovate. We set our own R&D agenda. We control every aspect of quality and we always build crafts that improve the safety, reliability and speed of UAV-based inspection. If a technology, idea or design is not in service of making inspection smarter, faster or safer, it does not make it into our Lab.

We work with suppliers at the leading edge of innovation in the UAV and inspection industries. We source parts from selected partners and design, print and test our own parts where possible. We meticulously design, test and manufacture each UAV so that it is fit for purpose, built to advance UAV inspection technologies and lead the way in reliability, quality and innovation.
